Upgrade for ageing weighbridge

ULTRAHAWKE has fitted loadcells to an ageing lever-style weighbridge at Whitehorse, Victoria.

The cost of maintaining the weighbridge had risen due to its worn knife-edges and bearings.

The measurement provider used Flintec RC3 stainless steel loadcells with non-conductive cups to minimise the risk of damage from lightning strikes and electrical surges.

The company says it cleaned out the confined space under the machine before installing the loadcells. The existing levers and bearers were cut by an oxy torch and removed through the pit neck.

The entire project took four workers two days to complete.
