Amalgamated Instrument Co (AIC) has released a new range of Industrial Wind sensors. These sensors build on the WS-MM-067 and WS-MM-660 models to provide enhanced performance and flexibility.
The WS-MM-MW35 wind direction vane uses an 8-bit Gray Code encoder disc that gives the wind direction in 1.4 degree steps. The Gray Code output is converted to a 4-20mA, 0-10VDC, pulse or RS485 output.
The WS-MM-MW35 cup anemometer uses an optical disc that gives high accuracy speed measurement. The output is available as 4-20mA, 0-10VDC, pulse or RS485.
The wide range of output choices makes the wind vane and the anemometer compatible with most monitoring equipment.
The transducers are manufactured from marine grade anodised aluminium with high precision sealed bearings. The anemometer cups and the wind vane are manufactured from glass reinforced ABS.
Both transducers include heater circuits to prevent “icing up”. This feature widens the fields of use of the transducers to applications such as snowfield weather reporting and shipboard use.
The transducers offer rugged, reliable and accurate measurement of wind speed and wind direction for a wide range of applications and are compatible with the wide range of instrumentation offered by AIC.
