AMETEK acquires test division

AMETEK has reached an agreement to acquire Xantrex’s Programmable Power Division for $US120m ($A126m) in cash.

The division manufactures AC and DC power supplies used to test electrical and electronic products.

AMETEK says the purchase will allow them to expand into the attractive electronic test and measurement equipment market.

The division has annual sales of around $US80m ($A84m).
