ACCUTRON Instruments has developed the ‘Vent on Demand’ system, which uses ultrasonic, time of flight technology to continuously monitor the airflow in key points in a mine.

According to Accutron Instruments, ultrasonic technology has been used for many years in the process control industry to measure fluid flows in pipelines. The company says it has since pioneered the use of this technology to monitor airflow in various mining and industrial applications.

Accutron Instruments says it first introduced the airflow monitor in 1994 and has since added a series of new ventilation products, which are all based on the new third generation Accutron Plus digital controller/transmitter.

The products include a mine drift/tunnel monitor, the mine intake/exhaust fan monitor, the auxiliary/industrial fan monitor and the integral Mine Air Quality Station (MAQS).

Accutron Instruments says the MAQS station allows users to monitor process variables, such as gas detection, temperature, pressure and relative humidity.

NLT is the Australian distributor of Accutron Instruments products.
