SIEMENS has released a device which combines both power measurement and monitoring in a single housing.
The Sentron PAC3200 allows users to collect over 50 energy distribution parameters, including voltage, current, outputs, energy and total harmonic distortion (THD).
The company says the unit has been designed to monitor electrical systems and accurately collect energy data and highlight excessive usage violations. It can replace conventional analogue display instruments.
The device can interface with either the Modbus Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or Profibus when fitted with the SENTRON PAC Profibus DP expansion module. According to the developer, this ensures a seamless integration into almost any control system.
The unit can also be integrated with the company’s power management systems, including the Simatic Powercontrol WinCC Powerrate or the Simatic PCS7 Powerrate.
