IFM Efector has released a range of diagnostic pressure sensors to detect any potential damage in pumps.
The PIM sensor monitors damage caused by cavitation, trapped air or gas, blockages and deposits.
The company says the unit performs two functions, pump monitoring and pressure detection. It continuously provides a numeric indication of the operating system pressure.
The developer claims the sensor measures the high-frequency pulsations of a properly operating pump and stores it as for reference. Any changes to the pulsation will result in the activation of an alarm.
