SIEMENS has released a diode laser gas analyser suitable for maintenance and calibration applications.
The SITRANS SL is fitted with an in-line reference cell filled with non-interfering gases. The company says this allows fast, non-contact measurement of gas concentrations.
The unit uses the laser diode to measure the light absorption of different gas components. The laser is beamed through from the gas a transmitter to a receiver. The developer claims the laser light is narrow and will only interact with a specified gas.
According to the manufacturer, the device is suitable for process control applications in the chemical, metalworking and energy industries.
