THE QUEENSLAND Department of Mining Safety and Health has ordered the recall of one of Industrial Scientific’s carbon monoxide sensor ranges.
The Department issued the instruction after sensitivity failures were found in some makes of the 4CF sensor line.
According to the product alert, the units could suddenly fail to detect and respond to the deadly gas.
The Department says only certain models of the device are affected.
All mines across the state are required to investigate if these sensors are used in their operations. Managers should follow Industrial Scientific’s identification and return procedures.
The products are also used in a number of manufacturing applications.
