AMS INSTRUMENTATION has released the latest version of the Kaymont Model 2000, which can be used as low cost, high accuracy alternative to relative humidity calibrations using chilled mirror or two-pressure systems.
According to AMS Instrumentation, the Kaymont Model 2000 is also faster than procedures using saturated salts. This new version incorporates advanced electronics and innovative approaches, resulting in an overall improvement in performance and reliability.
AMS Instrumentation says the Kaymont Model 2000 system can calibrate chart recorders with remote probes or carry out simultaneous linearity tests of multiple data loggers. It can also be used for a fast assessment of dew point instruments. According to AMS Instrumentation, unlike larger systems, the Kaymont Model 2000 reaches equilibrium within ten minutes, therefore allowing full range calibrations in much shorter times.
AMS Instrumentation says the Kaymont Model 2000 system can measure and control relative humidity directly. This eliminates the need for any additional conversions or computations, which can often lead to additional errors.
According to AMS Instrumentation, the Kaymont Model 2000 produces proper humidity values by continuously monitoring chamber conditions with a very accurate internal probe. The probe measures both the relative humidity and temperature and then sends this information back to microprocessor based controllers.
Internally, the Kaymont Model 2000 contains two pumps connected to a closed-loop system, one pump for dry air and the second for wet air. The controllers call for wet or dry air and the pumps respond accordingly. A high volume turbo-axial fan inside the chamber provides uniform relative humidity and temperature.
