HONEYWELL has released a range of microwave radar level instruments for use in plant storage tanks.
The VersaLevel line is manufactured by German company Krohne and includes a full range of guided-wave and free-space devices.
According to the distributor the guided-wave transmitter uses sharp electromagnetic pulses, which provide greater accuracy when detecting liquids, powders and pastes.
The supplier claims the free-space transmitter is ideal for use in difficult conditions which require non-contact measurement. An example of this is tanks with agitators or processes which have dangerous gases.
The company says the units are suitable for chemical and minerals handling, mining, oil and gas, petrochemicals as well as pulp and paper applications.
