PACIFIC Sensor Technologies has a released an ultrasonic gauge to measure the thickness and corrosion of pressure vessels, chemical equipment, boilers and oil storage tanks.
The PST-TM8812 is suitable for the petroleum, shipbuilding, power, mining and machine manufacturing industries.
The company says the unit can be used on any hard material, such as steel, cast iron, aluminium, red copper, brass, zinc, quartz, glass, polyethylene, PVC, gray cast iron and nodular cast iron amongst others.
The device has a measuring range of 1.2 to 225mm, a sound velocity from 500 an 9000m per second, a resolution of 0.1mm and accuracy of 0.5%. It comes with a calibration block, a RS-232 interface and can be fitted with a pair of probes.
