VDO, distributed by Continental, has released the gauge tester which allows technicians to determine if electrical instruments fitted to a vehicle are functional and accurate.
The VDO gauge tester does not require the instruments to be removed for testing. Operating instructions include test data for all popular vehicles and gauges.
The range includes three digital hand held tachometers which help derive the RPM of any engine, machinery, driveshaft, electric motors, etc.
The options available include mechanical contact measuring 0.5 to 19,999 RPM and a photo measurement method for speeds of 5 to 99,999 RPM. The inductive method uses a cable clamping device to measure the spark plug EHT lead pulses and convert these to actual engine RPM.
